About the Host

I am a gallery and glass studio owner,  a glass artist & a woman of science. I attended the University of Georgia, where I received my BS in Geology and my MS in Economic Geology.

I was one of the first women rangers at Yellowstone National Park and I got into geology when Lois Jones, one of the first women to the South Pole was my Intro Geology instructor.

During my first career I obtained 35 years of diverse professional experience ranging from frontier exploration to rejuvenating fields in a mature province.

We started thinking about a glassblowing studio in 2013 as I planned for retirement.  My husband, Michael Brown has an MFA in Sculpture and had been working with warm glass techniques since about 1999.  We built a destination location for our studio in Tomball, Texas before we knew how to really blow glass and it has been the adventure of our lives!
